COURSE DESCRIPTION:

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, many but not all people with Down syndrome develop Alzheimer's disease as they age. This is due to an extra copy of chromosome 21, which carries a gene that produces a specific protein called “amyloid precursor protein (APP).” This class covers the correlation between Down syndrome and Alzheimer's Disease.

CLASS RESCHEDULE POLICY 

Classes require at least 10 students to proceed as scheduled. If classes do not meet the minimum attendance policy, they will be rescheduled later, and all students will be informed before the class.
